DL-50 is an amazing engine i have a little over 2 gallons through it and it keeps on gettting better. turns a 22X10 at 6900 with ease and it's not been leaned out at yet. all i have had to do was lean the low end to get good transition and i havent messed with it for 25 flights. starts every time by the 7th flip. 2-3 when it's choked and 2 or 3 more once the choke is off.

Having owned a DA50, DL50, and a 3W50---I can say that I like the DL50 the best. The DL50 starts easier than the others and puts out just as much HP as the others---In performance the DL50 gives up nothing!!!---I have to say that the 3W engine was the hardest engine to start that I've EVER owned---Must have been the Tollitson (sp???) carb. After the 3W started and warmed up I had no issues with it the rest of the day--But that first cold start had my arm so sore you would have thought that I'd pitched nine full innings for the Cubs...

Got my replacement carb from DL USA even though I bought my engines elsewhere. Bob stepped up to the plate immediately and warrantied the product and only asked that I send him the bad carb. I think this shows Bobs customer service to be in the league with all the other top brands on the market. Bob was honest and KEPT IN TOUCH with me through the process. BIG BONUS POINTS to Bob. In dealing with the company that sold to me there was a serious lack of communication that was verrrrry frustrating. I now have crrashed engine in A-1 running condition. I am not engine mechanich, just your average modeler, and I found that the parts fit and went together easily. I think that I did about all the damage that was possible to this engine and now it is rebuilt and ready to run for what I thought was a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend for anyone to buy this engine from DLUSA. Thanks again. Jerry

"I flew my DL50 powered Vision today---Prop is a 23x8 Mejzlik and the exhaust is a Chip Hyde canister---Without much tuning at all I got 6800 RPM out of the box---I did have to lean both needles a tad as the engine was pretty rich out of the box....I didn't spend much time on adjustments as I was short on flying time.

One thing that I was really impressed with is the idle---This engine will run at a tickover pace---So slow you can see the prop!!!

I used an electric starter to initially start the engine to keep my arm from falling off from trying to prime/start a dry engine...After the initial start I EASILY hand started it the rest of the day---The engine will start within a couple of flips when hot...Engine pops within a few flips when cold choked and starts within a couple of flips when the choke is opened.

Definately a KEEPER!!!---I plan to take the cowl off to fine tune the carb. I usually spend at least an hour making adjustments to get it juuuuuuust right!!!...Right now the engine a bit rich on the bottom end...

I'm VERY satisfied with this engine and would recommend Bob at DL USA to anyone---Everyone was commenting on how well the engine ran---With a few snickers from a few that commented about where it was made---You couldn't hear a peep out of them after seeing how well the engine ran... "

"OK about 15 minutes to mount it up from a DA-50 removal. another 15 minutes servo ect stuff. Put the wings on. 11 flips..watch the gas get sucked up to the carb. Turn on ignition...4 more flips and it popped. choke off...3 more flips and were running...."

"I agree 100% about buying from Bob. He is repairing my crashed engine and found that the ign ground clip at the spark plug had never been installed as well as another clip in the shielded connecter. I have another DL50 that I bought elsewhere and am considering having him inspect it.

The ads from overseas are showing a reduced price, but when you look at the shipping charges, you will see that the price is about the same as buying from Bob."
